Goldstein Dental Center is a private practice in Buckhead. Not a chain. Not a multi-location group. Two doctors who have been treating Atlanta patients for decades, in the same building, with the same standard of care that the Goldstein family has maintained in this city since the 1920s.
About
About Goldstein Dental Center | Dentist in Buckhead, Atlanta
How We Practice
Both doctors trained with an emphasis on the full mouth: how function, structure, and appearance work together, and what it takes to get a result that actually holds. That shapes how every case here is evaluated. The question is not what procedure can solve this. It is what this patient actually needs.
The practice is conservative by design. We do not recommend treatment without a clinical reason. We tell patients what their teeth need, what can wait, and what does not need treatment at all. If orthodontics and whitening gets you to the result, that is what we recommend, even when veneers would pay more. That orientation is not a selling point. It is how we practice.
Small practice, by design. Two doctors. The same hygienists. The same people at the front desk. You are not a file number here, and a lot of our patients have been coming long enough that we know their families.
The Doctors
Dr. Cary Goldstein is U.S. Past President of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (2020), one of only 106 dentists in the country to hold fellowship in that organization. He has been named a Top Dentist by Atlanta Magazine every year since 2017, holds a professorship at the Dental College of Georgia, and has lectured in more than a dozen countries. He has designed instruments that bear his name and co-authored Imaging in Esthetic Dentistry, a clinical textbook used in professional dental education.
Dr. Sheryl Wait, DMD brings more than 20 years of experience treating patients across the Greater Atlanta area. A graduate of the University of Georgia (BS, Biology, 2000) and the Medical College of Georgia (DMD, 2004), she completed advanced training at the Dawson Academy in Occlusion and Smile Design. She is an active member of the Hinman Dental Society, the American Dental Association, and the Georgia Dental Association.
A Century of Dentistry in Atlanta
Dr. Irving H. Goldstein started practicing dentistry in Atlanta in the 1920s. His son, Dr. Ronald Goldstein, went on to become one of the most recognized figures in American cosmetic dentistry, a clinician, author, and educator whose textbooks are still taught and whose work helped define the field.
Dr. Cary Goldstein is the third generation. Before opening Goldstein Dental Center, he spent eleven years in private practice alongside his father. Between his grandfather, father, two uncles, and two siblings, dentistry has been the Goldstein family’s work in Atlanta for nearly 100 years.
No other cosmetic dental practice in Atlanta carries that history.
In Buckhead Since 2006
Dr. Goldstein has been in private practice in Atlanta since 1986. He established Goldstein Dental Center in 2006, and the practice has been at 4320 Roswell Road in Buckhead ever since.
Long enough that patients are now bringing their own children. Long enough that the families who started here have referred their colleagues, their neighbors, and their siblings.
His work has been covered by CNN Vital Signs, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Magazine, Simply Buckhead, and The Atlantan. He appeared on the AJC front page in 2025.
